Neste ano, The Weeknd lidera a disputa concorrendo 19 vezes em 16 categorias - inclusive aparecendo duas ou mais vezes em algumas delas, como "Música no Hot 100" e "Música r&b". Outro destaque da premiação é Justin Bieber, finalista 12 vezes em 11 categorias. Os rappers Drake e Fetty Wap aparecem 11 vezes em 10 categorias cada, que também concorre com ele mesmo em "Música em streaming de áudio". Quanto às artistas femininas, Adele e Taylor Swift foram indicadas em 8 categorias cada.
